Hi. My family and I are coming from the UK to Las Vegas for my wedding in August 2010. We're spending a week in Vegas and then we have two weeks left to play with. We're thinking of getting our return flight back from Seattle so we need to drive from Vegas, through LA to San Francisco. (all places...

  • Seattle Washington

They call it Emerald City, the green gem in the Northwestern corner of the USA. Seattle is a wonderful place. It sits on a series of rocky hills almost surrounded by the blue waters of two mountain-fed lakes and a broad Pacific Ocean Inlet. From various vantage points throughout the city, you can catch...

  • Day 26: Seattle

I went to see a Seattle Mariners Major League Baseball game. The Mariners have been very bad for the last several years. They haen't made the playoffs since 2002, and besides a fluke winning season in 2006 they have been one of the most pathetic franchises in the league. Last year they became the...

  • Day 24-25: Bellingham, Kent, Seattle, Olympia, WA

I left Bellingham to and headed back south to Seattle. I met Michelle and Ronnie from USAtourist in Ballard, WA. They're very nice and they gave me a box of supplies, including 2500 business cards and an ink stamp that says "Bryan was here." They're actually encouraging me to commit...

  • Day 19: Seattle

I hadn't planned on going to Seattle for another week or so, but my good friend (and fellow traveler) Kyla was flying to Japan on Monday, and I went to go see her. My car was still in the shop so I got a ride from my parents, who were going to town for a concert. I hadn't got a ride to Seattle...

  • Re: The West Coast USA and Western Canada

Hello Jenn and Matt, If you were to drive from L.A. to Seattle on the Interstate Highway you could do it in 3 days of heavy driving. Driving the Pacific Coast Highway is a good bit slower. But I do think that with 2 weeks you should have enough time to enjoy plenty of sights along the way. I cannot quote...

  • Re: seattle - san francisco 2 weeks

Hi, When you read my other post, keep in mind the seasonal weather conditions. You plan on traveling in February. For some of the attractions I mention - Crater Lake National Park, Mount Rainier National Park, Mount Saint Helens - there can be road closures and limited access due to snow. So check their...

  • Re: Travelling from Seattle to Vegas in January

Hello, I had made that trip about 6 years ago in the autumn. It can be a very beautiful drive. Seattle winter weather normally is not cold enough for snow. You will more likely encounter rain. And as long as you keep a reasonable distance from the car in front of you, you should be fine. Though it does...

  • Re: Food, Wine, and Beer Festivals

In Seattle we love our Food and Drinks! The Bite of Seattle is our big food festival. It's held at Seattle Center every year. It's a great way to try a variety of foods from some of Seattle's fine and casual restaurants. http://www.biteofseattle.com/home/default.aspx In September, the neighborhood...
