Everyone from my generation has heard of Artis. He's been a Market Busker, he's been homeless and he's been the inspiration for Soundgarden's hit Spoonman. This was the first time I got to hear/see him play live and it was an amazing experience. With his arsenal of spoons - all sizes, all materials - he makes music by hitting them against eachother and against his body. If you ever get the chance to see Artis, do it!

Circus Contraption is another one of those acts that seems like it could only come out of Seattle. They play a heavy Oompahpah kind of music while various performers do their thing. This is the Emcee who spoke in a heavy fake German accent. He was the kind of character that you would leave your kids alone with.

You've heard of 80's tribute bands. These are 80's tribute dancers. This is Fankick! It's hard to explain their act. Eighties dance moves done by girls with their 80's air heads in their 80's clothing to 80's music. After a while it was kind of mesmerizing. Though the teenagers sitting by me had NO idea what it was about and thought it was completely dorky. Uhhh...the 80's, maybe they did know what it was about.

This kid is 15 years old. If you close your eyes you'd swear you were hearing Johnny Cash. It's just not natural that a kids voice should be so deep. Vinnie Miranda is one of the Pike Place Market buskers. He announced that he's on his way to work on his first album with Johnny Cash Jr.
