Anyone who has ever visited Seattle knows that one of the "must sees" is the Pike Place Market. It is a favorite among tourists. And it is an institution among locals.
All week long the local buzz in Seattle has been about the Pike Place Market's 100 year anniversary. There have been a variety of special events happening all summer. But the party culminates tomorrow, Friday 17th August. If you're in Seattle, you're in for a treat!
Starting at 8am, Starbucks and La Panier will be giving away coffee and tarts. (BTW, the market is where you will find the original Starbucks that has led to 1000's of stores around the world.)
Then throughout the day historical reinactors, buskers, chef demonstrators and our city officials will entertain the crowd. But I think the two highlights of the day will be a Salmon Tossing Championship and a concert featuring musicians from some of Seattle's best known bands.
