Looking for cheap staying facility in California.

Hi there, before joining this forum one of my friend recommended me about this site, and after going through the threads I have found out to be really informative. I am here to share my experiences with you guys and also seek for information for my need.

Anyway, I have to visit California for around 4 months and half for some official work. I will be traveling with my wife. Actually I am looking for a cheap yet safe staying facility in California during that period. I have seen some of the global sites like asiarooms.com and have got some useful information. I am looking for some more alternatives to choose from So if you guys have any local information please let me know. Thanks in advance........

California is a very large state.  Which area are you planning to visit?  In some areas, like San Francisco, Los Angeles, San Diego and the upscale communities, the cost of housing is very high.  In other area, away from the major business centers and the most desirable living areas, the cost of housing is more reasonably priced.

There are many Internet resources that can be useful in finding housing, but you must decide which area.

Welcome to our new community forums!  When you get to California, please share some of your observations and tips with us!

Hello I am new to this site too. And yes like the oher person mentioned where in California? Is liek saying I am traveling to Europe and need a great place to stay. That said, me and my girlfriend went to Los Angeles last summer and we stayed in a large room in wonderful & cozy house built in 1939 the yr Gone with the Wind and Wizard of Oz came out. The area was Studio City, near Burbank and Universal Studio. The room was in the back of the house with its own bathroom and there was a large window with lots of ligh facing the backyard. The backyard had lots of citrus trees. We stayed there for two weeks and some morning we had some real oj and lemonade. We also had access to the kitchen. WE had rental car and parking was not problem at all. It was free parking on the streets and very safe. WE were paying $80 a day flat. It was a lot cheaper than staying in a small hotel room.I am pretty sure that room can also be rented monthly for a much lower price. We also had hifi internet but you must have your own computer. One day while taking a stroll we saw a tv actress walking her dog and she was very friendly and chatted with us. She was on the Westwing show but I cant remember her name. The house owner , I think he was on his 40's, was very friendly and he was well traveled and spoke several languages. Here is the email to the place mpagan2419@aol.com But reserve soon for the day we were departing an Italian guy was staying for a 3 weeks. Happy traveling and LA is a fun place. Very lay back, cool, warm and expensive! Franco

    Hi

As I myself is an avid traveler and a discount seeker, the site mentioned by you is very informative.

looking for discounted properties, I came across a site VRDiscounts.com which lists only discounted properties all over the world.

You can have a view at California rentals too where you can avail discounts as much as 45%.

So try your luck and pls inform about other sites where I can  find discounts on travel as I am planning to take a trip to Davenport.

    Good day
