    Hi Theadarsh,

That's a tough one to answer without more details.  Where are you flying from?  How long will you be here?  Where are you planning to go?  And what are you planning on seeing and doing?

Some basic things that I can suggest is to make some reservations in advance.  When I travel, I like to have some hotel nights planned in advance, particularly for visits to large cities.  It's important to have reservations if you will be somewhere at the same time as a large event like a festival or conference.  So check in advance to make sure you don't find yourself in a tough situation.  On the other hand, if I'm going to be traveling by car to destinations outside of the city, it can be nice to not have reservations so I can stop when and where I want.  www.usatourist.com/english/reservations/reservations-hotels.html

If you plan to travel by car, make your reservation in advance.  Check the rates from different companies to get the lowest price.  www.usatourist.com/english/reservations/reservations-cars.html

For wherever you are traveling, check the weather forcast shortly before you go.  The U.S. is a big country and you can find very different climates when you travel.  And at some places day and night time temperatures can have a huge range.  It's always a good idea to pack layers, that way you have the flexibility to dress for whatever you may encounter.  www.weather.com

The Transportation Security Agency (TSA) changes the security requirements for flights regularly.  Before you board, check to see what the latest restrictions are.  Doing so can save you a hassle in the security screening line.  http://www.tsa.gov/

Check to see where you can get online while you are here.  Many hotels offer free Wi-Fi (wireless) internet to their guests.  That's great if you are traveling with your computer.  If you are not, look to see if the hotel offers courtesy computers in their lobby or business center.  You can also check to see if there is a internet cafe nearby with public access to computers.  Having internet access as you travel can be handy if you want to check on reservations or current travel conditions.

Even if you can check reservations online or by phone, it's important to have a printed copy of all you reservation confirmations (air, hotel, car, tours, etc.) in hand just in case there is a discrepancy.  Having this information with you could help to avoid headaches when you arrive.

    Hope this helps!
