Hi- I live in Ventura County and one of the fun things that we do is visit a farm called Underwood Family Farms. I think they have a couple of locations - in Moorpark & Somis, but the one we go to is in Moorpark. It is a working farm that allows the public to visit. They have an animal center where you can feed the animals and learn all about them. There are pony rides, activities for the kids, an animal show on weekends, tractor rides and more. They have a big Pick Your Own section where you can pick tons of seasonal fruits and veggies. There is even a produce stand on site. They have lots of events throughout the year too. We just went to their Easter on the Farm event and it was so much fun! They have PYO blueberries at their other site in May and their Fall Festival is in Sept/Oct. It is one of the few working farms that lets people visit. Their website is www.underwoodfamilyfarms.com if you need more info on it. Agriculture is such a huge part of California that if you're in the area, you should definitely make the trip! HB
