Lithium Battery Limits in Carry-on Baggage

Beginning January 1, 2008 air travelers may not pack loose lithium batteries in their checked luggage. Lithium batteries installed in consumer electronics (cell phones, cameras, computers) are okay. However, I recommend always carrying those times on board with you. Passengers are limited to two extended-life spare rechargeable lithium batteries.

The new regulation is being put into effect because lithium batteries have the potential to overheat and start a fire.
