I left Bellingham to and headed back south to Seattle. I met Michelle and Ronnie from USAtourist in Ballard, WA. They're very nice and they gave me a box of supplies, including 2500 business cards and an ink stamp that says "Bryan was here." They're actually encouraging me to commit vandalism. And if you know me, you know that I need very little encouragement to commit vandalism. So I will be stamping my way across the country leaving a trail of business cards. Woohoo!
After lunch I headed to Fremont, WA to hang out. Fremont is a pretty neat artsy community in north Seattle. There are lots of good cafes and book stores and art gallerys and restaurants and bars. It borders Lake Union's Salmon Bay.
Then I drove to Kent, WA to see my Uncle Don. It's always a kick to hang out with him. He's the cool uncle. He took me out to eat and, after seeing my camping skills, gave me the Camping for Dummies book. I get the feeling he's trying to send me a subtle message... Thanks Uncle!
The next morning I drove back to Olympia because I'd forgotten my rain coat at my parents house. I ended up staying the night and the next day and the next night because several plans fell through in rapid succession. I don't like to backtrack. It frustrates me. I almost left instead of waiting for the van to be fixed, but then I forced myself to chill out. After that I had a very nice time hanging out at home with my dog and parents.
