Hello everyone, and welcome to my travel blog!
Yesterday, I embarked on a minimally-planned, solo road trip across the USA, from Los Angeles, CA to New York City. I've set aside 3 or 4 months for the journey, and I'll be chronicling my travels here at USAtourist.com. Here's my preliminary route:

A few things about the journey: I don't have much money, so I'll be camping and sleeping on couches whenever possible. I'd like to get to know the people and places along the way - If I end up somewhere interesting and/or inspiring, I'll stay a while. I haven't spent much time in the midwest, the south, or the east coast of the USA. There's a lot I want to see, and that inspired the erratic diagram above. I call it the 'sine wave' route.

A few things about me: I'm a 24 year old white guy from Washington state (born in Renton, WA, grew up in Olympia, WA). I've spent most of the last 5 years in Los Angeles attending the University of Southern California, and working. I'm a fiction writer, poet, blogger, and entrepreneur.
On the road, I hope to experience everything I can, share what I find, and connect people. I'd like to make this as candid and personal as possible - please send along your comments and emails. I'm excited to begin!
